Learning Objectives: Describe the elements of physical fitness and self-assess personal level. Evaluate levels of activity, and make adjustments to increase fitness benefits by increasing pace and adding time and/or repetitions.

Instructions:

For this assignment, you will do some basic exercises to assess your physical fitness. You will complete the fitness assessment four times throughout your PE course. Your parent or guardian will need to sign off on each of your assessments. You will submit the same Google Slides Presentation for each assessment so be sure to keep it saved in your Google Drive. You should have an assessment slide presentation that you created from assessment number 1. If you did not create a slides presentation for assessment number 1, there is a template linked below the videos. Follow the directions and watch the videos below to complete the exercises for each area. Record your results on the slides labeled assessment number 4 on your slideshow.

Strength and Muscular Endurance

To assess your strength and muscular endurance you will record how many pushups and situps you can do in one minute. Watch the videos below for proper technique. Set a timer for one minute and complete as many pushups as you can. Record the amount on the slides linked below. Do the same for situps.

Cardiovascular Endurance

For cardiovascular endurance, you will either run a mile or ride three miles on a stationary bike and record your time. Find a location that you can run a mile, or ride a stationary bike for three miles. Record your time on the slides linked below.

Flexibility

To assess your flexibility, you will complete the sit and reach test and the back-scratch test. You will need a measuring device such as a yardstick, ruler, or measuring tape to complete these tests. Let your teacher know if you need help with this. Watch the following videos to see how to complete these stretches. You will record your results on the slides below.
