Industrial Revolution Inventions (10 points)

Learning Objective: I can analyze and form an opinion on what I have learned about inventions in the Industrial Revolution.

Now that you have a good sense why the Industrial Revolution came about and what major inventions were created that changed the world, you will be creating a post on the Padlet below, which is an online bulletin board. Here are the instructions for how to login and use Padlet. Your Padlet post needs to answer the following questions: Which of the inventions listed is the most influential on the world? Why?

Inventions to choose from:

    • Mill Machines
    • Cotton Gin
    • Interchangeable Parts
    • Steam Engine
    • Steel Plow
    • Railroad
    • Telegraph

In order to receive full points, your Padlet post needs to include the following:

  • Which invention (from the list above) that you think is the most influential on the world as the TITLE of the post
  • Picture of your invention
  • 2-3 sentence reason why you think that invention is the best. Make sure to elaborate. An answer like, "Because it is." won't work!

Feel free to look through all the Padlet posts by other students and like/comment on them. You don't have to but it is nice to be recognized for your work!

To turn in this assignment:

  1. Log in and complete a Padlet Post following the criteria above
  2. Take a screenshot of your post
  3. Click Add Submission
  4. Drag and drop the image into the File Submissions box
  5. Click Save Changes
