20. ASSIGNMENT: The United States of Obesity Project (Due March 2)
The United States of Obesity Project
For this project you will be given Poverty Rate and Obesity Rate data for each state in the United States. It's your job to analyze the data and perform and interpret statistical calculations to determine if the poverty rate causes the obesity rate to increase.
Think of this project like a test. You need to complete it on your own (no collaborating with friends). You can use your notes to help you and you are welcome to look at past lessons and assignments if you get stuck. If you have clarifying questions about this assignment, I'm happy to help! But if you have questions about how to actually do this assignment, I will direct you back to the resources within the class.
You have two attempts on this project. If you're not happy with your score on your first attempt, look over the mistakes you made, read my comments and review past lessons. Make your corrections and submit the link to your project again. In the submission text box type, "Please Regrade". Corrections on 2nd attempts will generally be worth 1/2 credit unless otherwise specified by me.
This project is worth 20 points.
It is due on Friday, March 2nd at 6pm.

DIRECTIONS:
1. Open the project by clicking the link below and selecting Make a Copy:

2. Change the name of the worksheet to "LASTNAME: The United States of Obesity Project".
3. Complete the worksheet. Be sure to answer in complete sentences and EXPLAIN your answers. A lack of effort will result in a lack of credit.
4. When the worksheet is finished, change the share settings in the top right hand corner to: Anyone with the link can comment.
5. Copy the URL of your worksheet. Come back to this page and click Add Submission.
6. In the text box, paste the URL of your worksheet and click Save Changes.
