• see the need for a method to help us find areas under the normal distribution curve besides the 68-95-99.7 Rule.
• recognize z-scores as a measure of how many standard deviations a data point is from the mean.
• understand the standard normal distribution curve in relation to z-scores.
• calculate z-scores and find their approximate location on the standard normal distribution curve.
