Summary

Forensic Toxicology is important in investigations of today and in history. Many seemingly natural deaths are later determined to be homicides or suicides by basic Toxicology testing. A Toxicologist is trained to not only recognize hallmark symptoms of drug abuse, but also less common signs of poisonings and Bioterrorism. Routine Toxicology testing is also useful in cases of car accidents where impaired driving is suspected to have been a factor. Toxicology has evolved through history to become a sophisticated and accurate science that often offers the only answers in a baffling case.
