WATCH: How Science Works

The scientific method is a good framework for science, but most scientists don't actually follow the scientific method in exactly the way it is outlined. Science happens in a lot of different ways such as trial and error, field studies, talking with other scientists, researching data from the past, and sometimes just pure luck. Scientists all do parts of the scientific method, but they may do the steps in different orders, or they may come back to the same steps a few times.
