Part 1- Literary Analysis: Your task is to locate at least 3 special sections or quotations in the text. The idea is to go back to some especially interesting, powerful, funny, puzzling, or important sections of the reading and think about them more carefully. Also look for literary devices and draw connections from text to text or text to real world. As you decide which passages or paragraphs are worth going back to, make a note why you picked each one. Summarize the passage and describe why you selected it in the table below.  Make sure your summary and explanations are thorough.  

Part 2- Research: We are reading a historical fiction novel about the civil war.  Your task is to dig up some background information on any relevant topic related to your book.

2. The worksheet will open in Google Docs

3. Choose File then Make a Copy  (this will give you a version that you can type in)

4. Complete the assignment and save the document in Google Docs as LASTNAME Assignment Name (ex. WADSWORTH Persuasive Essay).

5. When you are finished click Share in the right hand corner

6. Under Who Has Access click Change

7. Choose People at Mountain Heights Academy who have the link can view

8. Choose from the drop down Access field: Allow anyone at Mountain Heights Academy to Edit and then click Save. (Checking this box allows your instructor to write comments on your assignment)

9. Copy the Link to the document (the top field of the Sharing Settings window)

10. To submit your assignment, in Moodle click Add Submission

11. Paste the link to your Google Doc in the box

12. Click Save Changes to submit your assignment

After you have completed this assignment, it will be marked as complete with a checkmark after it has been graded by the instructor.
