9.3 ASSIGNMENT: Personal Narrative Final Draft (Due October 26)

Personal Narrative Final Draft (40 Points)

Before you submit your final draft of your personal narrative make corrections and edits based on the peer-reviews feedback you received last week. Complete a final edit and proofread your story for the following:

MECHANICS & FORMATTING

• Have I spelled every word correctly? 
• Does every sentence end in a period (or question mark or exclamation point)?
• Have I followed the rules for comma use?
• Have I correctly punctuated and formatted all my quotations?
• Have I capitalized properly?
• Do I indent or skip a line consistently to begin all new paragraphs?
• Are my paragraph breaks where they should be?
• Is my paper double-spaced?
• Is my paper in 12 point font with a Title at the top?

After you have edited your story and used the feedback from your peers from last week, you are ready to submit your final draft.  

Instructions:

Grading:  The score you earn on Utah Compose will be multiplied by 2 for your grade in this class.  You must score at least 20  points on your essay in Utah Compose for full credit. For example, if you earn 20 points in Utah Compose, your grade will be 40/40.  If you earn 17 on your essay in Utah Compose, your grade will be 34/40.  You have unlimited attempts on your essay and you may revise and resubmit it as many times as you need to until you earn a score you are satisfied with.

STEP 1: Click HERE to open website.

STEP 2: Go to genius to look up your SSID (Your SSID is located at the top of your profile in genius)

STEP 3: Click "user login" at the top right of utahcompose.com .  Add 3 0's to the beginning of your SSID number and use this as both your username and your password. Note- some of you have changed your password in UtahCompose.  If you don't know your password, contact your teacher for help.

STEP 4: Make sure you select English 8, Period

STEP 4: Click on the "Practice" tab and click on the prompt entitled, "Famous You" Then click "begin writing"

STEP 6: Copy and paste your revised personal narrative. Once you have completed the essay, click "add submission" and write in the text box, "I have completed the essay."

After you have completed this assignment, it will be marked as complete with a checkmark after it has been graded by the instructor.
