Science Blog: Periodic Trends (10 points)

This Week's Science Blog Topic: Trends on the Periodic Table
For this week's blog entry click HERE to open an interactive periodic table. Answer the questions below.
- Choose "Atomic Radius" on the tab at the top. Slide your cursor from left to right along each row and take note of what happens to the atomic radius as you move right across the periodic table. Slide your cursor down each column (group). The atomic radius is the size of the atom. What trend do you notice across each period? What trend do you notice down each column? What is the overall trend for atomic radius?
- Choose "Electronegativity" on the tab at the top. Repeat the process from #1 by sliding your cursor from left to right and top to bottom and take note of the electronegativity value shown in the table. What trend do you notice across each period? What trend do you notice down each group? What is the overall trend for electronegativity?
