Assignment: Impact on Humans & Places (20 points)
In this assignment you will demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of recent natural disasters.
1. Research a natural disaster (flood, hurricane, heat wave, drought, earthquake or tsunami) that has occurred recently (since 2000).
2. Write a song, poem, story, presentation or essay about that natural disaster.
- Include facts about the event (e.g. what, where, when) and the impact it has had on the people and economy of that community.
- Include facts about how it has changed the face of that community (positively and/or negatively)
- Include information about their reconstruction efforts (is the community fully rebuilt yet? new codes/laws so community doesn't suffer devastation in future events? etc.)?
- Include how you feel about the devastation that has hit the area.
- Include your sources! At least 2

To submit your assignment:
1. Create a Google doc or Google presentation. If presentation, you must include images. If essay or story, it must be in paragraph format.
2. Click SHARE (upper right hand corner)
3. Click CHANGE (next to 'People at Mountain Heights Academy with the link can View')
4. Change access to allow anyone at MHA to edit (button/menu near bottom of window) and click SAVE (this allows your instructor to write comments on your assignment)
5. To submit this assignment, click ADD SUBMISSION (in Moodle) and paste the document link
6. Click the 'Save Changes' button to submit
