WATCH: What is CRISPR?
CRISPR is a new gene editing technology that allows scientists to find and edit genes within the DNA of any organism. This new system is very precise and efficient compared to older gene editing tools. CRISPR is currently being researched and developed, but has promising applications in curing many diseases. It also raises ethical questions related to modifying humans and possible impacts on ecosystems.
