AUDIO FILES: Romeo & Juliet

Download these three mp3 files to your computer. Click on the bolded text to download the audio files. Together they make up the whole 3 hour play of Romeo and Juliet. This particular recording was done by the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation), and is done to sound as if you were listening to the play itself. (An alternative site to get the recording is librivox.org/romeo-and-juliet-by-william-shakespeare/, but the reading is not as lively there.)

I highly suggest that instead of merely reading the assigned scenes, you listen to them while you read. Your comprehension will increase substantially. If you don't have your own copy of Romeo and Juliet, use the pdfs to read along.

For Act 1 , I have also attached a reading the play that explains the key lines and words. I don't think this reading is anywhere near as good as the BBC production, but it does give explanation, and they don't. So try out both ways of reading/hearing the play, and decide which one helps you most.

In addition, I have uploaded film clips of the play. However, you do need to know the text, and the movie has some changes from the original. So be sure that you take the time to listen to and read the play.

You can listen to the audio here, or download the files (by clicking the 3 dots) and listen to it from your computer.
