Taking the STAR Reading Assessment

Every student enrolled in an English class at Mountain Heights Academy will be taking the STAR English assessment. This is a skill-based test that allows us to determine students' current level of skill mastery and monitor their progress over the school year. It is an adaptive test that will respond to a student's skill level and provide questions that are level appropriate.

This is a required test. (Exception: Students not enrolled in a math or English class at Mountain Heights Academy.)

The math and English tests each take approximately 45 minutes and need to be completed without any assistance from parents, siblings, guardians, etc.

Any outside assistance given to students will invalidate the test results and result in inaccurate individualized math instruction for the student.

Please take the test in a quiet environment, without interruption. Students will need to have a pencil and scratch paper available for use during the test.
