WATCH/READ: Fragments vs. Complete Sentences
COMPLETE SENTENCES VS. SENTENCE FRAGMENTS
Even though all of the grammar rules that go into writing are sometimes hard to grasp, there are often formulas we can remember that help us make sure we are on the right track. A complete sentence MUST have both a subject and a verb. In other words, there must be a "something/someone" in your sentence that is doing something. You can't have an action that isn't attached to an actor, or vice versa.
Watch the following presentation and see if you can figure out why the first phrases are incomplete. Incomplete sentences leave you wondering who or what the sentence is talking about because they present an incomplete thought.
