READ: Important Vocabulary Terms

These are the most important vocabulary terms to learn this week. Please make sure you understand these terms. 

  • Science is a distinctive way of learning about the world through observation, inquiry, formulating and testing hypotheses, gathering and analyzing data, and reporting and evaluating findings.
  • Scientific skepticism questions claims based on their scientific verifiability rather than simply accepting claims based on faith.
  • A scientific law is a statement that describes what always happens under certain conditions in nature.
  • An observation is any information that is gathered with the senses.
  • A fact is a bit of information that is true. Facts come from data collected from observations or from experiments that have already been run.
